Welcome to the Lennox Passage Yacht Club Website
"The Yacht Club's wharf is D'Escousse's main harbour-front facility, and it needs major repairs or modifications. In the fall of 2002, the Club engaged consultant Angus MacIntyre of Lake Ainslie to conduct consultations with the whole community about the future of the wharf and the waterfront. CLUB & THE GENERAL PUBLIC
This is our home away from home on the WWW. In addition to providing you with information about our club and activities, we also want to serve as a good starting point for anybody who is interested in sailing in general or the east coast of Canada. We plan on updating this site very regularly, so please check back often.
Without further ado, here is some info about our club...
The Club was formed in 1980 with the initial aim of saving the D'Escousse Wharf from it's impending destruction (a goal that was achieved). We started with a group of 20 concerned citizens and have grown to our present size of 145 people. We have members from across Canada and the U.S., and each year we play host to visitors from all over the world. Since we were so successful in meeting our first goals, we have since refocused, and now aim mainly to have heaps of fun, and as often as we can. We also try our hardest to ensure that all our visitors have a great time on our island, and become returning friends.
The Lennox Passage Yacht Club is located in beautiful D'Escousse Harbour on Isle Madame, Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, on Canada's east coast. The club is located across Lennox Passage from the St. Peter's Canal, gateway to the world renown Bras D'Or Lakes.
The club boasts a nicely
appointed club house, for the use of members and visiting boaters
alike. The club house has all necessary amenities,
including a kitchen, shower, and laundry facilities. The
wharf has ample room to facilitate the needs of local
enthusiasts, as well as all our guests. Nearby is an inn, a restaurant, a convenience
store, a service station, a Credit Union, and
a post office. A short drive away is the small town of
Arichat that has even more businesses and services that boaters
might find useful. Don't worry about transportation to and
from these businesses, there are always friendly local people and
club members around who would be more than happy to chauffeur you
to and from your destination.

Each August the Club hosts a seaside
festival called Harbourfest. It has become one of the most
popular events on the island, and many people return each year
from all over Canada and the United States.
